Taste the Arts: A World Tour of Tastes, Arts and Culture.

June 7th, 2008 at 6:30 pm at Centerstage

On June 7, 2008, the Maryland Chapter of Young Audiences/Arts for Learning (YA) will hold its annual fundraiser, entitled Taste the Arts at CenterStage. Now in its third year, Taste the Arts provides a culinary and artistic tour of the world while honoring champions of arts education in Maryland.

There is something for everyone at Taste the Arts, which is expected to draw more than three hundred people from around Maryland. The event features five destination rooms, from an ancient African village to a modern day Indian café. Each destination represents a continent’s native music, art, live performance, food and drink. Each room will also have an ambassador/orator guiding guests through the many wonders of that destination. The event also includes an awards ceremony, when the Visionary School, Artist, and Nina Wood Collier Arts Champion of the year awards will be given. The final event of the evening will be a live and silent auction, with items that range from weekend getaways in France to a chance to be “a dj for the day” at a local radio station.

All the proceeds from the event underwrite the Maryland Chapter of Young Audiences/Arts for Learning’s (YA) programs to schools and communities, making art experiences possible and affordable to all, regardless of a school or community’s resources.

Marc Steiner will be emceeing the event. Don't miss out on the fun and the chance to support a great organization!
