After seeing Palin speak last night - I am a litte more confident in her conservative views. I admit - with all the "thin resume" talk online and in the left-wing major media, I almost bought into the fact that "she wasn't vetted properly" and "she doesn't have enough experience" blah blah blah. This woman clearly has courage, a well-defined solid opinion, and the executive experience needed to help Mr. McCain. I disagree with the author that it was a "political" decision in the current definition of the word "political". Isn't every decision politicians make "political"? To me - he chose an opinionated, strong-willed, conservative woman that just so happens to have accomplished a whole lot early in life - Family and Political. Spending time trying to figure out if the decision was political or not in reality means nothing. To me - a veep candidate needs to be able to make decisions and support the Pres. candidate. She can do both. I don't really bother with digging into the "whys" and "hows" of the process. I don't think the majority of voters care.
No one is ever going to be a perfect fit for anyone. I was a Romney supporter first and foremost, and was hoping he'd make it on the McCain ticket, but after last night, I am a lot more excited and energized about Palin. She makes the ticket stronger than Romney, Pawlenty or Lieberman could.
